Nick Dawson is a long-time AOPC member, past president, and treasurer/secretary and he and his wife love to travel (Covid permitting). Growing up in the UK he visited many European counties with his parents as a youth and being an avid photographer from age 11 captured lots of great memories. In adulthood, he and fellow AOPC past-president Cindy, his wife, continue to find interesting places to travel to, both in the US and abroad. Now retired, new photographic opportunities

Ecuador and The Galapagos Islands Adventure Cruise

Having a degree in environmental biology Nick had always wanted to visit the Galapagos Islands, 600 miles west of mainland Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. He achieved that dream in April 2019 and visited Quito, Ecuador’s capital city, and took a trip into the Andes before and after taking a small cruise ship to visit seven of the islands that make up the Galapagos Conservation Park. His presentation will cover all aspects of the trip, from logistics, photographic equipment recommended and geography/geology and of course many images of the fauna and flora of these wondrous islands.
