Raised in Louisiana, graduated with a BFA in photography from Louisiana Tech in 1986. Went to work for the Arkansas Democrat in 1988. Left for the printing industry in 1996 and retired in 2021.

For the past three years, David has been documenting the demolition and construction of the I-30 bridges over the Arkansas River in downtown Little Rock.
