Alex Kent, Director of Education for Bedford Camera and Video, will be speaking about traveling smart and safe while taking photos in the wilderness. Kent has followed his interests in nature and travel photography for the past 15+ years. Realizing that spending time outdoors and traveling to new places had inherent risks, he continued his education to become a more competent traveler. He is currently a Wilderness First Responder from the Wilderness Medical Institute, a Level IV Whitewater Canoe Instructor from the American Canoe Association, and a Master Educator for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Kent has also studied and volunteered with the Arkansas Master Naturalists as well as the Ozark Tracker Society.

Hey everyone, sorry I did not get this email out yesterday, but I had a few things that came up. The majority voted at the meeting, and through emails, to move March’s meeting a week up. So on March 10th we will meet to enjoy a presentation by Tim Grey.
Tim Grey is a photographer who has written more than a dozen books for photographers, has published dozens of video training courses, and has had hundreds of articles published in magazines such as Digital Photo Pro and Outdoor Photographer, among others. He also publishes the free Ask Tim Grey eNewsletter, the monthly Pixology digital magazine, and a wide variety of video training courses through his GreyLearning website. Tim teaches through workshops, seminars, and appearances at major events around the world. Learn more at http://www.timgrey.com.
Tim is based out of New York, and is currently speaking to clubs spread out along a massive road trip. Please come and enjoy a rare opportunity presented to the club. We will meet as we normally do, just one week early.
If you love macro photography and bugs then you will definitely want to come listen to John Sutton this Thursday night, February 18th at 6:30PM. He will be showing off some of his amazing work along with how he does it. No :”live” displays will be used 🙂
Hello AOPC Members. Tomorrow night is our monthly meeting that will start at 6:30PM. The address is listed at the bottom of the email if you need that information.
As most know who attended the Christmas Party, David Gillson stepped down from the President’s position due to his work changing on him. We will be voting in a new President and Vice President tomorrow night. So please come and participate if you can.
Also, I will be speaking on the basics of creating panoramic images. I will cover how to take the pictures, and then several methods of putting them together once you are back at your computer. This is a helpful technique to know if you have large scenes that cannot be captured in one frame.
We will also be discussing February and March field trips.
Also, visit our field trip’s page for this Sunday’s trip and also our monthly challenges. Each month is posted for the entire year so that everyone has plenty of time. This months challenge is based on patterns. Be creative.
Hope to see you all there!
This month’s meeting will be our yearly Tim Ernst slideshow at Windsong Church of Christ. The address is 3 Windsong Dr, Maumelle, AR 72113. I highly suggest you mapping this out before you drive if you are unfamiliar with how to get there. The meeting will start at 6:30PM on November 19th. This year’s presentation is called A RARE QUALITY OF LIGHT: 40 Years of Wilderness Photography by Tim Ernst. If you have never attended one of Tim’s shows before you are in for a treat. This is free, and feel free to bring friends and family members.
Hey everyone, I am pretty excited for this meeting to listen to Tim Donar. He is known for his drone photography usually, but one of his services is making prints on the side. I’m sure that I am not the only one who has processed a photo, printed it, and asked “what happened?” Tim will be talking with us about how to prepare photos for printing, displaying on the web/email, and how to resize them properly. I get asked a lot how to resize photos for Facebook… well this is everyone’s chance to come learn.
Our meeting will be on October 15th starting at 6:30p.m. Our meeting address is 2nd Presbyterian Church (600 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, AR 72227) – Room# 65.
Don’t forget, the monthly challenge is something orange.
