Mike Hall developed an interest in nature photography in the early 80’s as a teenager living at Mt Nebo State Park. Mike would spend most of his time on the mountain looking for great spots to photograph. He took some of that knowledge with him to get a job on local television in Fort Smith. He spent 16 years shooting daily news and sports. Some of those years were spent shooting travel series, investigative stories, storm chasing and a few trips out of the country to film documentaries.
In 2001 Mike retired from full-time shooting to become an engineer on a television satellite truck. Nowadays he can be found at the most important national news stories working for companies like CNN, Weather Channel, and NBC News. Although his job is exciting at times, he enjoys his free time getting back to his roots of landscape photography.
Mike is in his 32nd year of television broadcasting and will share some of the highlights from over the years. This meeting will be on October 19th, starting at 6:30 PM. With October being the month of Halloween, the monthly challenge will be “Haunted.”
